Week 15...Finding Meaning at Christmas

I wasn't sure about continuing our Christmas party...Cookies and Cocktails...this year. There are moments when I feel like it's just not the same in celebrating things when inside I'm so sad from missing my parents. I contemplated hosting the party or not hosting the party for several weeks. When Brock asked when the date for the party was, I knew then that I needed to host it. My children have grown up with this and this event was for them for so many years. Having our favorite Santa come to surprise the kids each year was truly magical. As the boys got older-and so did our Santa- we phased out this part of the festivities, but I still miss it. I've realized that as adults, we still need a special Santa moment in our lives.

Our party was a blast and we always enjoy the time spent with those who can attend during the busy holiday season.

I also made a specific effort to have out decorations that reminded me of family.
